This fine site will help you decide the perfect tipple for every occasion. A favourite quote so far:
Tales of Cisco-induced semi-psychotic fits are common. Often, people on a Cisco binge end up curled into a fetal ball, shuddering and muttering paranoid rants.
I know exactly what they mean. I've felt like that myself after a few days of fighting a PIX.</in-joke>

Is anyone still reading the Norwegian stuff or are you all too busy recovering from Whitby?

In other news: UnCon was distinctly disappointing this year. Ken Campbell was as ever highly entertaining, if more restrained than usual, but there was only one programme of speakers, instead of two, a very meagre selection of stalls and I saw no entertaining loonies at all. Most disappointing. Got nattering with the chaps from the Centre for Fortean Zoology and may get involved in that, though, both at the con and in the pub afterwards - looks fascinating, highly entertaining and with a chance of contributing to Real Science. Splendid. Gatecrashed a party one night but really wish I hadn't.

In other news, we have another new LJ member. Please welcome [livejournal.com profile] bonsaii, AKA little sister of [livejournal.com profile] slovobooks and my Most Favoured Ex, the fair Caitriona. I'm going to have to finish those writeups of the various Irish trips now, aren't I?

Microsoft tells you what to read.

OK, not really, but Encarta's list of Cult C20 Novels is interesting.
My ones from the list behind the cut )

Hey stupid - are you too
dumb to know there are
4 different simultaneous
24 hour days within a
single rotation of Earth?

I'd forgotten how much fun this site was. Not that I actually understand whatinole he's on about.

This kind of person is why I usually enjoy UnCons so much.

EDIT: fixed a typo in the hyperlink. Sorry, folks.
