Today is the shortest day in these frigid climes in northern Winter, and though some sources seem to believe it begins today, I prefer to think of it as midwinter's day, myself. It's the end of Saturnalia and it's also Yule, so burn a log, hang some holly and mistletoe, decorate a tree, wassail, whatever way your peoples celebrate Newtonmas.
