Birthday plans
Oct. 15th, 2007 04:12 pmI'm starting to bring together some ideas for my 40th, which is, terrifyingly, in about 3 weeks: weekend of the 9th/10th November. (Actual Big Day, 8th, a Thursday.)
I'm considering the Anathema/Porcupine Tree gig at the Forum on Saturday night. Would anybody be interested in that? I'm very fond of Porkie's, to whom I was introduced by
drpete. I don't know melodic black metallers Anathema, but Ian "WINOLJ" Sales recommends them highly and I enjoyed the Opeth gig he took me to a year or so back.
Notional plans:
Thu night - dinner somewhere pleasant and veggie. Possibly Rani's up in N London, as I've not tried it yet but I hear it's great. Suggestions sought! Week /after/ the Tun, I believe, this.
Fri night - Belgian beer, possibly the Dove in Bethnal Green, as again, I've not yet tried it.
Sat lunch: Dim Sum in Chinatown, followed by...
Afternoon to early evening, before the gig, subject to interest: I'm thinking a *very* gently-paced pub crawl of some of my top-rated real ale places in central London. Including but not necessarily all of: Dovetail, Doric Arch, Wenlock, Lowlander, Rake/Market Porter.
Please comment if you'd like to do some or all of this, or with suggestions! Also do feel free to pass it on or show it to non-LJ types. I'll be emailing it out a bit, too. :)
