I am caught!
Oct. 15th, 2007 04:00 pmClueless & Witless may have finally noticed that I've been getting free broadband since June, for last Wednesday at about 2am, I got cut off, right in the middle of trying to unlock a smartphone I'd just been given by a friend. Most vexing. OTOH, it may actually be more down to them rebooting a router without noticing someone was using it or something like that. This seems more likely to me.
I have lent my wireless router to my next-door neighbours, who I put online and indeed gave a PC to recently, so that I can borrow their link, but it's slow and unreliable and only a couple of my machines have wireless. Thus, expect Internet activity to be intermittent for a few weeks. I am in the process of returning my line to BT (*grinds teeth*); when this is done, then I can apply for a new ADSL account. Recommendations of someone with genuinely unrestricted downloads welcome. Zen can't help short of a £75 business account. UKonline are the current front runners with a £25 business account with a formidable 500GB monthly limit. As putting together every rewritable medium I've ever owned amounts to rather less than this in total, I think this will suffice for now.
