Sep. 7th, 2007 11:57 pmP. S. I also want an iPod Touch. It has lots of teh shiny. It sings Samantha Fox songs to me inside my head. This is worrying and possibly bad and wrong.
But it's £270 for 16GB and I have a perfectly good, if old and chunky and clunky, 20GB MP3 player.
(Which I am currently trying to attach to Linux, as it's had no new music in it for several years, so badly does Creative Labs' software suck, so little do I want to run Windows, and since it is so old it does not pretend to be an external drive, so I can't just drag&drop. Gnah. But I am not begrudging it; it was a gift from
kjersti's late dad Terje and a very kind and generous one it was too. Good of her to let me keep it, too. She had every right to ask for it back. And the camera that scroteboy nicked, too - Terje gave her that as well.)
If there was a 160GB hard-disk-based iPod touch, my longing would be considerably worse. Good job there isn't, really.
Of course, what I really want (what I really really want) is the functionality of a Nokia E90 and the software and interface of an iPod Touch built into the case and form factor of a Psion 5. With infrared. That would make me very happy indeed. Extraordinarily so. Go-out-and-max-out-another-credit-card-on-the-spot happy. But I'm never going to get that again. None of us are. Shame, really.
