Broadband without BT

Bulldog Cable and Wireless* has found the only way it can make its world-beatingly-awful customer service even worse.

It's closing my account & cutting me off. It is no consolation to know that I am not alone.

The problem is, I have no BT line. Bulldog took over my BT line.

I'm not a BT customer and I don't want to be. I've talked to Tiscali, Be & TalkTalk - they can't do ADSL unless I get a new BT line in. Easynet (which used to do LLU) is now Sky and its website says I need a BT line.

Anyone know of any ADSL providers that will also supply the phone line? Don't suggest Virgin - Mitcham is not on cable and for ADSL they use BT.

Badgers and broadband

Looks like I'm going to Pipex. They can take over my current line without me going back to BT first, it won't cost me anything, and in fact, the same 8Mb/s unlimited service will cost a tenner a month less from them than from Bulldog. For a fiver less than Bulldog, I could have had 16Mb, in theory, but since my home network is only 10Mb, why bother?

In other news, I am very much taken with tskirvin's default usericon, but it would be rude to steal it.
