Telephones

Mine's been cut off. After a protracted argument with BT today, moving from Hyderabad or somewhere back to Britain, judging by accents, they refuse to reconnect me unless I pay extra for the privilege.

I am thoroughly hacked off. I want to change phone companies. I can't get cable, I believe - I'm outside the area. So... Any recommendations? Good experiences or bad?
