[livejournal.com profile] suaveswede is back in Britain again, only 1 week after he left. He has been exercising his mystic powers as International Man of Beer again tonight: we went to the Lowlander Cafe in Covent Garden and not only did he charm the landlord into an after-hours stay, we got some fine free beers and 3 £10 complimentary food & drink vouchers for the new branch of the Lowlander in the City. It's about time I invited [livejournal.com profile] admorton out for lunch again then, I reckon. (Last week, Anders got drinks and freebies out of the Claret in Addiscombe and the Sultan in Colliers Wood, too. It is a wonder to behold, I tell you.)

But anyway. He's here for a week again, as he is am international guest judge at the 30th Great British Beer Festival at Earl's Court, all this week. I am planning on visits on Wednesday and Thursday, myself. Thursday will probably be the night when most people are going, by the look of it, so anyone reading this would be very welcome.

However, Friday is a special day for Mr Anders, for it is his birthday, and since he's in England, he has decided to celebrate it with his British mates. There will be drinkies in the Market Porter on Friday evening, from about 6pm is the plan. (If you don't know it, it's a fine little real ale pub in Borough Market, hard by London Bridge station, so very accessible for Croydon and points south but also handy for the centre of town.)

He's asked me to invite folks, so I hope you can come along and help muster a good turnout for him! It's cheaper than the festival (£6 for non-CAMRA-members) - which will be absolutely packed on Friday night anyway and by which time will probably be running out of beer.
