Still not here

lprovenMostly. Home connection still FUBARed, except I've got it working on my laptop.
However, today, something amazing happened. And no, it is not the return of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sparktastic from her vacation back at the folks' in Edmonton, it's that of my own free will I acceded to her request to meet her off the plane and help carry her stuff back for her.
I made it to Gatwick by 9:10am, a bare 10min late. (Sadly her plane got in 45min early but that's not my fault.) I.e., very punctual, for me.
But up at 7! On tram before 8! Voluntarily!
Verily, I am a changed man. It must be the absence of beer or something. I can't remember the last time I was out and walking along the street in the light of dawn, unless I was staggering home from a club or party. [EDIT] It was actually quite pleasant.
I kept being astonished by how early it was all day. Second breakfast with Sparky in a greasy spoon in Camberwell at 10:30am, in Angel for a haircut before noon, unsuccessful shopping for cross-country ski boots in Covent Garden by just after 1, at a client in the City before 3, met an old mate from University in Camden for dinner at Manna by 7... A hell of a full day. I'd almost forgotten what it was like. And leaving the pub at kicking-out time, earnestly discussing philosophy, evolution and semiotics, unimpaired by booze. I could grow to like this. It's a revelation.
If this is all facilitated by staying off beer, I must keep doing it.
