Kinda sorta the book meme
Aug. 12th, 2004 04:00 pmDidn't this one go round like a year or so ago?
Anyway. *Not* read:
- Frankenstein,
- Last & 1st Men (but fancy it. Recently read some of /Solaris/, though, and gods it's awful. Overblown and dull dull dull),
- Heritage of Hastur (what? MZB's only much cop at fantasy anyway, and that's overlong and overrated. Not a /Darkover/ book or /Mists of Avalon/?), EDIT: DrP makes a fine point. Oops.
- In Conquest Born (WHAT? by WHO?),
- Brave New World (pretend SF by someone who'd be mortified to be called an SF writer. I am an SF reader. Why should I bother? It's politics anyway, which I detest. Not bothered with /Animal Farm/ or /1984/ or /A Clockwork Orange/ either, for much the same reasons),
- Roadside Picnic (a shame, as I met and liked the Strugatskys, and I loved /Tower of Birds/ and another of theirs),
- and Upanishads, I *think*.
Not a bad list, but some very odd entries.
