Yes, that's what JASC really stands for.
I've just discovered that PaintShop Pro 7 & 8 can't handle TIFs that render fine in the GIMP on Linux and IrfanView on Windows. Apparently, the compression type is unsupported.
What used to be a lovely neat little tool in v3 and even in v4 was a handy, usable tool is now a sprawling monster app, a 53MB download no less, and yet it can't handle the compression formats of two free programs. What is JASC playing at?
Show of hands: anyone prefer PSP now to the way it used to be a few years back?
If you think it's got a bad case of feeping creaturitis, you might enjoy IrfanView. Tiny, blisteringly fast, free and despite that site's modest description, it's much more than a viewer. It can handle format conversion from a vast range of types, resizing, resampling and cropping, which is 95% of all I ever need from an image-editing app. Recommended.
