A nifty web-mashup thing: FlickrVision.

It displays an animated world map, showing you popup "speech bubbles" which display the latest photos uploaded to Flickr as they appear - and where they come from. It's a clever bit of scripting and it's decorative. Would make a good screensaver.

More decorative than the last mashup I was pointed to - JimmyR. It's a sort of best-of-the-web thing compiled from lots of RSS feeds. May entertain some. The feature that uses Google to find people's online MP3 archives is rather fun and worth a look - why bother with P2P?

Back in the world of boring old ordinary websites, albeit of a bloggy sort, you might find LifeHacker (handy tips for life and computers) and GizMag (tech toys agogo) worth a look.

P.S. Oh yeah. There's also an excellent still-quite-new IT site in town: German computer mag giant Heise Verlag, publishers of C'T, have an official UK site now - Heise Online UK. (It rhymes with "visor".) ;¬)
