Rather put a damper on my evening, that, which had been a pleasant one of dinner with my mum & her mate Audrey on one of her (literally) flying visits to London. She's off to Finland for a fortnight. I think the travel-lust is genetic; she's been back from Russia about a month.
Amusing to note that Audrey's nearly first comment - after "oh, it's here" - was how much better I looked than the last time she saw me. That, I think, was out at Gatwick - tonight was Heathrow - with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
the_major when I was feeling somewhat proud of losing a couple of stone and being fairly slim. She reckoned I looked gaunt and am healthier-looking now.
But I want to be gaunt, dammit. I blame Neil Gaiman for setting an implausible target for impressionable notgothhonest boys to aspire to. [Sigh]
