[Geek] New Apple machines
Jan. 10th, 2006 06:46 pmJobs' keynote has *just* finished. Details at

&

OS X 10.4.4 is out.
iWork & iLife have been tweaked. New blogging/homepage tool iWeb. Optional radio tuner for the iPod.
But bugger that...
"For years, Intel chips have been bored in PCs. Now, the Intel chip will be set free." Or words to that effect.
The iMac has been Intelized, on sale immediately. Intel Core Duo inside.
The Powerbook line is dead; now there's the MacBook Pro. Again, Core Duo; 15.4" extra-bright screen; integrated iSight, magnetically-attached power lead. 5.6lb, at 1.67GHz ($2K) & 1.83Ghz (£2.5K). On sale Feb.
And that's it. 30y since the first Apple come April & now they make Intel PCs. I sure hope it works out for them!
So much for the Mac mini or iBooks being changed over first!
