Vaguely meme-ish, but not really
Feb. 25th, 2005 11:07 amA topic "10 Things I've Done You Probably Haven't" - or some such.
#1 Been a guest on Sky News this morning
Rentaquote boy here - or as I prefer to put it, writer, speaker and broadcaster - was on Sky Live News at 8:46 this morning to talk about the new Hitchhikers movie. Our esteemed Publicity Officer
aeglefinus has, apparently, a video of this, so I may be able to send you a copy on request if you wish. They wanted someone to enthuse about the movie and Sky Movies had an exclusive on a new trailer - narrated by Steven Fry as a Guide entry on movie trailers. It was actually pretty good and looked a lot better than the one on the movie website. Alas, I didn't get time to plug the fan club or even to introduce myself as Prez, but hey, it was different and fun.
#2 (I guess) I've been on TV before
#3 ... And radio
I've done 3 Kilroy programs as a Skeptical talking head, and a couple of phone-in shows on BBC Southern Counties radio as a computer Agony Aunt. It's rather fun and I'd like to do more. If you saw it - or get the clip - do tell me what you think!
#4 ... And given a packed-out talk at the Windows Show at Olympia
"Choosing a network operating system", I think it was called. About 1996. Over-filled the theatre by quite a bit and overran by nearly half an hour, but I was the last speaker of the day. Terrifying but fun.
#5 ... And been the guest attraction on a live chat on MSN
Not quite so rock'n'roll, that. :¬)
Hey, this ego-plugging thing is a laugh, isn't it? [Grin]
( Lemme see, what else... )
