Just back from, as other commentators have noted, one of the best weekends ever, marred only by my trusty BMS R80/7 sidecar outfit dying from gearbox failure somewhere around High Wycombe - although the poor old girl got mr_flay and I to nearly Oxford before I let her rest. This means my only working motorcycle is again the H100. [Sigh] More on this to come, but suffice it to say that Notby rocked.

I'm typing this on a new toy - a loaner PowerBook Titanium G4 with Mac OS X "Panther", thanks to ignatzz. Yay! Is there a better LJ client for OS X than iJournal? It doesn't do FL change notification or anything AFAICS, just lets me post. It did marginally facilitate uploading an amusing new usericon, created with Firefox and iPhoto. No preview button, though...

And before the expense of repairing the bikes hits, I've paid off one of my CC bills totally today, courtesy of Her Majesty's Inland Revenue. Which was nice. Two more to go.

In other news, I seem to now officially have a new lodger, at least inasmuch as she's moved a load of her stuff in while I was away. It is Mistress sinnymaker for those who have not yet cottoned on. She has proved a great assistance in moving really quite a lot of old PCs and monitors out of my old computer room. Anyone want a free screen? I seem to have a few spare 15-inchers... Let this also serve as a reminder to those who were interested in a free double mattress! I've got some Ikea shelving to sell, too - there's some spare Ivar, Sten and one they've discontinued. The latter has 3 uprights, in blue and green, is about 2m tall and 3m wide with, IIRC, 4 sets of shelves - that's 12 in total for the mathematically challenged. Fairly smart. I used them as bookshelves but they're big enough for TV, hifi and so on. Make me an offer! It's all got to go - my garage is now bulging...
