Aargh. Long time, no update. Been to Sweden. It was splendid. I
have a half-written - all right, quarter-written - piece on the
trip in my PDA. Say something if you think I should finish it &
post it.

Since then...

Saturday. Frantically writing my column for Custom PC. Go buy a
copy now, it rocks. Comes with free silly pictures of YT.

Then, sadly, it was too late to get up to the West End, for the
birthday drinkie of [livejournal.com profile] drplokta, which I'd meant to be at.

Instead, went for a beer - accompanied by the Last Night Of The
Proms - at the rather pleasant Priory in Stockwell, in the fine
company of [livejournal.com profile] drpete and [livejournal.com profile] mmcpoland.

After that, I headed off alone up to Islington, for an visit to
the Slimelight - for the first time since Stuff™, back in June…
and it was utterly wonderful. I had an absolute whale of a time
and saw loads of people I've barely seen or talked to in ages -
but as they're virtually all on LJ anyway, I cannot be bothered
to do a rollcall. You know who you are. :¬)

Must return, soon. Stuff™ notwithstanding.

Sunday, I slept, mainly. Despite bunging fuel in the H100 and a
rapid departure, followed by hooning uptown while half asleep &
still slightly drunk, I nonetheless missed both an outdoor swim
and a show about opera's forgotten idols, the Castrati, with an
assortment of LJers:... with whom I spent the rest of the evening talking.

But I bought Tan dinner and she didn't kill me. So that's OK. I
wish I'd seen it, though. Anyone fancy joining me if I go for a
second try?

Monday, an evening of attempted data recovery and pizza in Lee,
chez [livejournal.com profile] zoo_music_girl.

Missed a chance to mow down [livejournal.com profile] doja35. There'll be more.

Tuesday, a day of PC building with Andy WINOLJ. He's happy now so
I have time to build another one for Camilla, the Cute Homeopath.
Isn't it wonderful to be so popular?

Tonight giggage and a last-minute trip to see John Foxx supported
by the wondrous Swarf. They utterly outshone the alleged main act
for my money, even if [livejournal.com profile] liz_lowlife disagrees.

EDIT: I suppose I should've mentioned that I saw...
And probably more I forget. I was a bit drunk by the end.

My thanks to Howard and Wayne, WANOLJ, who got me in there, and a
'hello' to Mat and Nicola, WANOLJE. :¬)

Bed now.

Remember kids, shout if you want to hear about Stockholm... :¬)

... is on again tonight!

Meant to plug this earlier, but I hope those of you naughty people reading at the office will see this anyway. This month's guest is famed "alternative" biologist Dr Rupert Sheldrake.

"Dr Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist and author of more than 60 scientific papers and several books including DOGS THAT KNOW WHEN THEIR OWNERS ARE COMING HOME (1999) and THE SENSE OF BEING STARED AT (2003). His website is www.sheldrake.org

"THE SEVENTH SENSE: RECENT EXPERIMENTAL EVIDENCE

"Rupert Sheldrake argues that telepathy, the sense of being stared at and premonitions are normal, rather than paranormal, and have evolved as part of animal nature. He will discuss recent evidence for these phenomena, and describe several do-it-yourself experiments.
