I've got my trike back! Yaaaaaaay!
£769.22, plus £60 for tax - PLUS £500.34 for 1 year's third party, fire & theft insurance.
Ouchie.
But it goes, and for the first time since June 2002, it's completely legal.
(OK, don't ask about the exhausts. Silencers are for wusses.)
Now it has a handbrake, a foglight, hazard lights, new plugs, balanced carbs, new steering head bearings, and a comprehensive overhaul. Runs very sweetly now, though, better than it's ever done - and makes a great deal of noise which is extremely sweet to my already-abused ears.
Next stop, Peterborough. Then, the Isle of Man. Hundreds of miles of lovely twisty roads, bikes everywhere, not a GATSO on the whole island and no maximum speed limit.
Do not expect many posts for the next fortnight.
