Errant rodent recaptured this morning!
I put the trap in the bathroom, baited with peanut butter and raisins. It's the sort that balances and since it's a tiny young mouse I weighted it so that a breath would push it over. I figured it wouldn't work on carpet.
Result: one mouse, within 12h. Heh!
Didn't get far from the bathroom to which it fled. I wonder where it was hiding, though? I searched very thoroughly. Probably inside the bathtub surround or something.
Tipped it back into the tank and after a couple of mad jumps it sat on top of the jamjar nestbox, rigid and stiff. It was probably in terror but it looked very much like absolute apoplectic fury at losing its newfound liberty.
Mice in a tank I am fine with; a house full of them, nibbling cables, eating my food and crapping in it, I am less keen on. So I shall be rather more careful in future.
Seconds later, it dashed inside to rejoin its siblings. I can't tell which one it is. Except...
It's now started its big brother's habit of patrolling the roof, upside down, in an effort to find a hole... It's going to lead the others into bad habits, I swear.
