Oh yes. In other news, various people have new toys. I have a new PC, in the form of
pmcmurray's old one.
(He's got a new Intel iMac from the wonderful Apple Refurb Store. I put XP on it for him, so that he can play EverQuest 2 on it. I feel somehow soiled.)
I've cleaned several years' worth of accumulated dust out of it, fixed its HD LED, which was connected to the wrong place on the motherboard, and given its hard disk to
nolley, who also has a new PC now - my old front-room test machine, built out of a motherboard from
hobnobs and a case scavenged from a skip at the Brighton & Hove Recycling Centre one day with
technofairy. I am currently wondering whether to resurrect my ancient Windows and Linux installs from my dead machine's old HD, or just nuke it and start over.
I'm not sure that
androctonus counts as a new toy but that seems to be progressing to some kind of officialness, too. :-)
On which note, I believe that the aforementioned
nolley also has some news to impart...?
