The Return of the Fox
Jan. 18th, 2007 03:44 pmWhat with the closure of the Cartoon in Croydon & the redevelopment of Wardour St's Intrepid Fox for flats, it's been looking bad for the London rock scene recently. But wait... For the Fox is back!
For more info, see its site (which is possibly NSFW if your bosses are hypersensitive to Rude Words - and has some egregious apostrophes).
It's quite close to the Angel, more or less behind the new Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue.
I am considering an exploratory mission on Saturday night, as I don't think anything else is on. Anyone fancy joining me?
BTW, I extracted the raw feed URL for the Xfm radio stream from the webpage's source, but I can't see the one for the high quality stream, only the low, which is here:
http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/playlist.asx?streamid=64
I don't know about anyone else, but for me, it only seems to work under Internet Explorer, but I can stick the raw feed URL into Windows Media Player on my Mac and listen without leaving IE open - and I get better volume control and so on, too. If anyone's found the higher-quality feed, do let me know, eh, please?
