After 3 tries - albeit 2 of them some 15y ago - and something like £450 in lessons (thanks, mum!), I have finally done it.

I have just passed a Class B driving test and now have a full car driver's license, in addition to my motorcycle entitlement.

This also means I now have to be a Really Good Boy for 2y. If I get 6 points, I lose the new licence. (Maybe the whole thing, I'm not sure.) But I've never been done for speeding or anything in my life, so I should be fine.

I am seriously considering selling all 3 motorcycles - the little 100cc thing, the sidecar outfit and the trike - and buying a car. If I don't practice these new skills soon, and keep doing so, I'm sure they will fade.

I quite fancy a Smart Roadster. Small, cheap to tax & insure, clean & green, yet looks fun, and the semiautomatic box & no clutch really appeals. I still really fucking hate car controls, which seem to me an ill-conceived and poorly-implemented lash-up compared to bike controls. Putting throttle and clutch on the feet while requiring you to let go of the steering to change gear by stirring a lever around in H-shapes is simply barking.
