In case you missed the poll I did a little while ago, here's the plan.

On Monday 8th November, my 37th birthday, at the Dovetail, from about 7-7:30pm until closing time.

It's a small Belgian and contental beer bar in Clerkenwell. It's got an excellent range of beers - something for just about everyone; even non-beer fans might enjoy the fruit beers and so on. It is a little expensive but you have to pay for quality!

There *is* food - they do Belgian food. Not much for veggies, I'm afraid, and I'm planning to eat first. I'm told the chips are good but service tends to be slow, but I'm hoping it'll be quiet as it's a Monday.

Nearest Tube & Thameslink is Farringdon; also doable from Chancery Lane or Barbican.

From Farringdon: you come out on Cowcross St. Turn left from the Tube and take the first left into Turnmill St. Take the first right into Benjamin St. You'll walk uphill, past a walled garden area on your left. At the top, turn left into Britten St. Take the first right into Briset St. At the end, go left into St John's Square. Go under the rather decorative arched stone gateway and you're into the open square proper, facing Clerkenwell Road. There's more of the square on the other side of the road. Cross it and on the far side it narrows into a little alleyway. That's Jerusalem Passage.

That isn't the simplest way but it's the shortest and quickest! Left out of the Tube and then left, right, left, right, left and you're in the square.

Alternatively, if you want to stick to big main roads and reduce your chances of getting lost, from Farringdon, turn right and walk to the end of the road. You're now on Farringdon Road. Turn right, walk up to the big crossroads with Clerkenwell Road. Right again, walk along Clerkenwell Road past a petrol station until you get to St John's Square. The bit with Jerusalem Passage is on your left. That will take 5-10min longer, depending on how slowly you walk!

I'm going for an early dinner with my mother and a couple of other people first at New Seoul, 164 Clerkenwell Road, London, EC1R 5DU, at about 5:30, but I expect that to be a small gathering - however, no-one will be turned away!
