Quiz scores so far
Nov. 3rd, 2004 06:15 pmSo, I hope this doesn't put anyone off. In case it might, and you're thinking of having a go at my little SF quiz here, don't click on the cut!
I'm awarding 1 point for author, 1 point for title. Half a point for initiative, like getting the last line or some other such salient observation.
None of them are movies or other media references. They're all books, short stories or both.
Yes, there's a trick question. However, the trick is harder than it looks at first. If you spot it, read it very carefully. If you don't spot it, I'm giving an initiative point for naming something else that uses it.
Google is cheating and if you own up, I'm not giving you the point. Sorry!
Lots of you think you know #14 or #15 or both. You're almost all wrong. [Happy grin] Only 1 person has got both right. Quite a few people have got the answers to them muddled. :¬)
Some of you have confidently put lots of wrong answers. I'm prepare to argue some of them - I've seen a couple of references to things I've never heard of. Yes, ideas get recycled. OTOH, some of them I can see what you're getting at and you're way off beam.
Nobody's got #s 3, 6, 7, 10 or 11 completely right. I'm surprised. Only 7 is moderately obscure.
Scores are out of 40. You could get extra points on top for initiative, like naming an alien individual.
We have, so far:
EDIT: We have a new leader! AND I've written an OpenOffice formula to generate markup for usernames. And I'm going for my dinner now.
